Google mapping pollution with homing pigeons
PigeonBlog Google maps air pollution via homing pigeons - Here is a description of the PigeonBlog from the site: "PigeonBlog provides an alternative way to participate in environmental air pollution data gathering. The project equips urban homing pigeons with GPS enabled electronic air pollution sensing devices capable of sending real-time location based air pollution and image data to an online mapping/blogging environment. Pigeonblog is a social public experiment between human and non-human animals."
A Google Map shows you the flight of each of these pigeons in various departure points around the city of San Jose, USA. This is not a real-time view. Dates show you when these flights were recorded and an amazing amount of data is able to be viewed as you watch the flight. A nitrogen oxide meter displays the low, medium and high levels as you watch the bird reach varying altitudes. In terms of mashup design this one is a winner. Change color schemes, Hit pause, fast forward or rewind as you watch the pigeon flight, and the data collection pane view is awesome. You can even see the name of the pigeon you are watching from the flock list along the bottom. To learn more about the project and there is an extensive amount of info on the site to read through. This is a great use of Google Maps to geographically call attention to an environmental issue.

My First
This is my first blogging experience. It feels great to finally able to express myself over to a potential of millions of people. Wow...
On why I started:
There must always be a why right? Well all I can say is that I want to truly see how it is like to express myself and let people comment on my views. More importantly it is for me to see myself; my own thoughts and expressions, just like a mirror, except that this mirror sees what lies beneath that skin.
My First:
There is always a first in everything, they say, whoever they are. I started this blog because it was my first to experience the pain for the loss of love. God's as well as her's. I didn't sieze the opportunity I suppose and I didn't cherish what was given to me. I was filled yet I wasn't happy. Perhaps what William J. Diehm said in "Sharpening your people skills" that without no there is no yes, and I quote "Happiness would be an unknown condition if it had never been contrasted with sadness." I could not feel the happiness in my life and hence I went the the opposite way.
I was blessed when He sent someone (though not a christian and someone I knew for only a year) to aid me. NOW, I know I must count my blessings and never look back. I must not, in fact.

I will post anything there is interesting and does not have a category belonging to my other blogs.
